If we pack you: We highly recommend our packing service.  Once we pack your goods, you will never do it yourself again!  Call and speak with a Customer Service Representative for details.  We would be happy to arrange a professional packing crew for you

If you pack:  We do sell packing supplies.  Pack everything in boxes.  Do not use paper or plastic bags.  Shut and tape tops and bottoms of boxes. Clearly mark the destination of all boxes on the top and sides and mark FRAGILE as needed.  All fragile items, including lamps, china, computers, stereos, DVD’s etc. must be properly packed.  Call us if you have more than 50 boxes, so we can reserve adequate time for your move. 

Elevators:  Be sure to contact your building supervisor to reserve the elevator and have it padded for the day of your move.  Also, note any time restriction that might apply.

Content of Drawers:  The content of all desk drawers must be removed.  Standard file cabinets can stay packed, however, the drawers must either be locked or securely taped shut.  Lateral and Fireproof file cabinets must be emptied.  Clothing may remain in dresser drawers, but, please remove fragile, valuable and heavy items (i.e. perfume, jewelry, books, papers, etc.)

Hanging Clothes:  Clothes on hangers must be in boxes.  We do sell wardrobe boxes.  Please order prior to moving day to ensure we have them on the truck for you.

Appliances:  Empty the contents of your refrigerator and freezer.  Due to licensing and liabilities, we cannot disconnect or reconnect any gas appliance, washing machine, or icemakers.  Upon request, the Movers may disconnect or reconnect your dryer.  Here To There Movers is not responsible of damage to plumbing, electrical systems, or for water damage associated with the connection or disconnection of washers, dryers and icemakers.

Cleanliness:  Our Movers reserve the right to refuse to move dirty items.  Our moving truck, pads, and equipment must be kept clean for our next customer.

Safety:  Due to licensing and liabilities, our movers cannot transport flammable liquids, firearms, or explosives, or tanks or containers for gasoline or propane.  Fuel tanks for lawn equipment, garden tractors, etc, must be emptied prior to your move.  Please have kids and animals at a sitter.

Parking:  Reserve ample parking for the truck.  Be sure to have the parking area and walkways clear of snow and ice, as well as other obstructions.  If new construction, it is your responsibility to provide a clean access path to your home or office (plywood, etc.).  If parking meters, they must be capped.

Arrival Times:  Time of arrival is approximate, depending on earlier jobs in the day and unexpected circumstances.  We will inform you by phone of the arrival time, if it differs substantially from the estimated time.

Bad Weather:
The move will continue during bad weather.  If the movers deem the weather is too bad to continue and stop temporarily, you will not be charged for “down time.”  If you decide the weather is too bad and ask them to temporarily stop the move, you will be charged the hourly rate, even though the movers are not working.

Actual Cost of Move:  The estimate is based on information given to us.  The estimate advises you of the approximate cost and enables us to arrange the mover’s schedule. The estimate is based on your home being packed and ready to move.  The actual charge will reflect the exact time spent on your move, any extras, boxes, packing supplies and a “truck charge.”  The truck charge may increase based on how far we travel outside our normal service area.

Payment:  Payment is due at completion of the move.  Payment can be made by Cash or Check (payable to Here to There Movers) or by Credit Card.  We accept the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.  We do not accept starter, third-party or out of state checks.

Cancellations:  If you cancel within 24 hours of your move, or if our Movers arrive and for any reason, you cannot move at the scheduled time, you will forfeit your deposit or pay a $75.00 cancel fee.

Damages:  Although our Moves will be as careful as possible, from time to time damages may occur.  If damage is caused by our services, Here to There movers, reserves the right to repair the damage(s) in question.  If we determine that damage cannot be repaired, we reserve the right to either replace or compensate based on the terms highlighted in red below for the damage.  If there is damage, notify your movers immediately by filling out a claim form.  If you discover damage after the move, call the office within 60 days of your move. No damage claims will be honored until the charges for moving services have been paid in full.  Damages caused while loading or unloading your truck or storage unit: Here to There Movers is only responsible for items in our immediate care, custody and control.

Excluded Items: There are some items we will not accept as part of the move. Some of these items are forbidden by law and others are outside our liability limits. Jewelry, art, stock certificates, cash will be refused as part of the move. We will not be liable for any lost or damaged items. DO NOT include them in boxes or other sealed containers that you give us to move. Ammo, fuels, and some chemicals will also be refused as per US DOT law. If you have questions, please ask.


Re-Imbursement for Lost or Damaged Goods - Customer must personally initial cargo liability choice

(________) I agree to MINIMAL REIMBURSEMENT for lost or damaged goods. I understand and accept that I will be reimbursed for lost or damaged goods at a minimal amount not to exceed sixty cents per pound per article. (No extra charge)
(________) I accept reimbursement equal to the replacement value for lost or damaged goods. I declare a total replacement

value of $__________________. I understand that total reimbursements for lost or damaged goods shall not exceed this declared value. (cost = value x 2%) This amount is added to the cost of the move. I understand that failure to disclose any article valued at greater than one hundred dollars per pound may limit carrier's reimbursement liability to this maximum per article.

Tips for the Movers/Packers: We only mention this because so many people ask.  Yes, our movers can accept tips, but of course, only if you desire to tip and feel they deserve it.
